On Oct. 2, our annual dinner was held at the Salt and Whiskey restaurant in San Diego. About 60 current faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the department joined in a festive evening. Guests enjoyed networking catching up on what they learned at the ACEP Scientific Assembly. Dr. Angelos, chairman of the department, asked all alumni to stand up, and then one by one, asked each decade of graduates to sit down. In the end, Frank Birinyi ’86 was the last person standing. He won the title of the most tenured graduate, and was given a standing ovation!
Dr. Angelos also announced that the Linda Robinson Endowment has raised $56,000 from over 10 different donors. During the general meeting, the board also announced the election of three new board members for the 2018-2020 term: Daniel Martin, MD, Bradford Cotton, MD and Michael Barrie, MD.
